So, though I still publish and lecture (about the science of public memory), I decided to create this instance of sharing which, I hope, will prove relevant, amusing and useful. Some of the five thousand digital slides and notes that I have accumulated during the years of active lecturing may thus again find a way to life.<\/p><p class=\"font_8\">As a museum addict and reformer, I have proposed heritology (1982) instead of museology and, to radicalise my solitary endeavour, &#8211; mnemosophy (1987). I wish to continue this far-reaching suggestion, hoping to be pardoned for the use of Global English and personal attitudes.<\/p><p class=\"font_8\">The world should become a decent place. To be part of that change I created the association<br \/>(EHA; 2001) running this site. The Best in Heritage conference was a success that required most of the available time.<\/p><p class=\"font_8\"><span class=\"color_11\">The administrator will remove any pictorial material subject to copyright though we are using it in good faith and for non-lucrative purposes.\u00a0<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/p><\/div><div id=\"comp-iptsbogc\" class=\"_1Q9if _3bcaz\" data-testid=\"richTextElement\"><p class=\"font_8\"><strong>Mnemosophy makes future happen<br \/><\/strong><\/p><p class=\"font_8\">The vantage point does not change (professional) reality itself, but our relation to it. So I preach Mnemosophy as emerging science of public memory. This viewpoint as it proved generously productive. It reveals new challenges and offers new projects, new books and lectures\u00a0and writings.\u00a0Whoever wishes to learn about oneself and the world needs to be inventing and proposing new ideas.\u00a0<br \/><br \/><\/p><p class=\"font_8\"><strong>BRIEF CV<\/strong><\/p><p class=\"font_8\">I was born in Zagreb in 1948. I graduated Art History and English language (University of Zagreb), gave up on architecture, later on journalism, but continued with postgraduate study of museology in Zagreb and Paris and made my PhD at the university of Ljubljana (\u201cTowards the Total Museum\u201d, 1985).\u00a0Starting the career as a museum curator I then became director and finally attained full professor tenure at University of Zagreb. I have served two mandates as ICOM National Committee chairman (Yugoslavia) and later became member of Executive council of ICOM. I have occupied position of Head of Department of Information Sciences, held Chair of Museology at the University of Zagreb and was teaching as invited professor at seven universities abroad. I was a member of the jury of EMYA and head of a jury and Council member at Europa Nostra. I have presented papers at some hundred conferences, wrote eight books, contributed chapters in nine books, published about 250 articles and delivered about 330 hours of lecturing as invited lecturer, mostly internationally.
